In December of 2002 we joined the UK’s premier pallet network, Pall-Ex (UK) Ltd. Pall-Ex was founded in 1996 by Dragons Den Start Hilary Devey, who sadly passed away in June 2022. Shortly before Hilary’s death, the network members (including Matthews Haulage) and the senior management team bought the network back from Hilary, making it a full Shareholder Network and further strengthening its future.

Pall-Ex is the award-winning leading provider of palletised freight distribution services in the UK and Europe. Founded in 1996, Pall-Ex has grown phenomenally but its core values have remained the same, providing customers with an unparalleled level of cost-effective service. By grouping our customers freight together, Pall-Ex also allows us to cut down our carbon footprint, by reducing our mileage on the road each year, moving an average of 16,000 pallets per night.

Pall-Ex also currently offers direct European domestic palletised freight network with – Pall-Ex Italia, Pall-Ex Iberia and Pall-Ex Romania, which is the first Pallet Network in Eastern Europe. There is also further coverage in France, Germany, Scandinavia, Baltics, Switzerland, Poland, Greece, Malta and even into the Middle East.
